Summary

This tool is a self-administered 24 hour recall that enables multiple and automatically coded recalls. The tool is based upon the validated Automated Multiple-Pass Method (AMPM). Food and drink items included on the tool are derived from the 2007/08 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The ASA24 system was developed by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Westat among other institutions and has been used in more than 3,500 studies since it was released in 2009.

The tool is available in English and Spanish and is accessible by individuals with disabilities. The tool is composed of: a Respondent Website, to be used by participants to complete recalls; and a Reseracher Website, to be used by researchers, clinicians and educators.
