|Full Nutrient, Food Groups||Retrospective; Usual||1 Week||Food Frequency Questionnaire||No||Detailed Information||Web Link|
This tool is a culture sensitive quantitative food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) developed for the Transition, Health and Urbanisation in South Africa (THUSA) study in an attempt to describe the nutrition transition. The FFQ was validated against a 7 day weighed food diary, 24hr urinary nitrogen excretion and basal metabolic rate.
The FFQ aimed to describe the food and nutrient intakes of the South African population as there were no dietary assessment instruments appropriate for the THUSA study. Participants received a small payment on completion of the study.
