This tool is a comprehensive, quantitative, paper based food frequency questionnaire, which includes 10 questions and 9 food items. Using photographs, it is intended to measure the average calcium intake for the previous year in the elderly. This tool has been validated once in 1988.
The questionnaire is shown at the end of the publication. Due to reformulation of foods and changes in diets since 1988, updates to the food questions, food composition table and database mapping is required.
Interviewers need to be trained.
