Summary

This tool is a semi-quantitative, paper based, food frequency questionnaire, which includes 65 food items. Using standard portion sizes, the aim of the tool was to assess overall dietary intake in adults. This tool has been validated once in 1989.

Special Considerations

The food frequency questionnaire used in this study was developed from the 24-hour dietary records obtained in a larger study involving 2340 subjects. Due to reformulation of foods and changes in diets in the UK since 1989, updates to the food questions, food composition table and database mapping is required.
